This is a short video of a Steinway grand restored for a customer.New strings and tuning pins were used and the soundbord repaired including new decal. The final preparation was to regulate the action for a smooth touch

Bluthner Upright Hammer Recentering and Bass Restring
Restoration of Bluthner Upright at Bedhampton Pianoshop. Loose centre pins are replaced to ensure silent and precise hammer travel, and old butt springs are removed in preparation for fitting of a brand new set. Having replaced the steel treble strings, a made-to-measure set of copper wound bass strings are fitted to complete the restring.

Preparing Bluthner Upright Piano Keybed
Restoration of Bluthner upright at Bedhampton Pianoshop. Old backtouch felt, which is torn and worn away, is removed from the keybed ready for a new piece to be fitted. New felt balance rail washers ensure that the keys can be accurately levelled, as well as preventing unwanted noise.
