Mellissa Bosham piano restoration

Dear Graham

Thank you for restoring our piano so beautifully after our flood. The guys who delivered it back to us, on a blowing February night, did so with great care and precision and most of all very good humour. Thank you all very much.

Best wishes

Hello Graham

This is just a quick note to say how pleased I am with the Rogers piano that I bought from you a couple of weeks ago. It is a treat to play and I am really thrilled with it.

Can I just say a 'thank you' to you and your staff at Bedhampton. As you know, I haven't been playing very long and I badly needed advice and information about the styles and workings of the piano. I was so grateful that you took the time to explain things to me.

Thank you again to you and your staff. When I buy another piano I will certainly come back to you (but, unfortunately, I can't see that happening for a good few years now) .

Kind regards

Dear Graham,

I am writing to thank you & your team so very much for my wonderful Bluthner Upright Piano. As you know I have taken a long time deciding which piano to get & the Bluthner has proved to me that it was well worth the wait! The whole experience of following the Bluthner's restoration, both on-line & in your workshop, has been fascinating & enlightening....I have learned so much! Your attention to detail & overall craftsmanship has been a privilege to witness & I have been so grateful to you all for your care & understanding of my personal wishes with regards to the regulating & tone of the piano. The Bluthner is not only a beautiful instrument to play, but it also looks fabulous after all the work you put into polishing up the flame mahogany case.

Having had the Bluthner at home now for over a month, I would also like to thank you for your continued care & dedication to the piano as it 'settles down' following it's restoration.

In short, thankyou to you & your team for making these past few weeks so pleasurable & stress free...even the actual arrival of the piano took place with professional ease & punctuality!

I look forward to working with you again in the future, & I will certainly be referring you to my friends & colleagues...infact, I already have!

With grateful thanks,

'Thank you so much Graham, not forgetting David too, for persuading me to have my superb 1935 Hopkinson piano. I really thought a new modern piano was what I should have but am so pleased with the amazing restoration job you and the rest of the team worked so hard to achieve. It looks like new, fits into my room perfectly, plays beautifully and is much admired. Thank you for including us in watching its progress and the valued friendly and helpful service.

Another happy customer

Hello Graham,
Just wanted to write and thank you for a first rate service. As you know my piano which I have owned from new, since early 1970's, was in a serious state having been left in a farmhouse for sometime and been attacked by mice and moth inside and out.
It was so bad, I was seriously considering taking it to the dump and actually took it outside for a day to do just that. However sentimental reasons held me back as I did not want to part with it.
I cannot beleive that my beloved piano now looks in such excellant condition.
You managed to take care of all the problems and I am now proud to have it back in my home. It is a joy to look at, all woodwork gleaming and all chewed keys etc renewed and of course it now plays well.
I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone- I considered the 'state' of my piano to be the ultimate challenge!!
Also first rate service to your collection and delivery service team, who were reliable, on time and no fuss.
If anyone is in doubt about having work done please show them before and after pictures of my Kemble enough said........
Thankyou very much, from a very satisfied customer, Josie Saiers. WELLOW

Dear Graham,

Thank you for the lovely John Broadwood grand piano which you restored and sold us last year. We really appreciated the time you gave us to try all the pianos in your shop and were impressed by your knowledge and enthusiasm, as well as that of your assistant, who also did some excellent playing for us. You answered all our questions, were most helpful about our central heating and humidity issues and did not press us into making a rash decision We enjoyed watching the slow and careful restoration process with photographs of the progress and made a couple of visits to see the work you were doing. We are delighted with the end result, which sounds terrific and is played virtually every day by our pianist daughter who has made enthusiastic progress since it arrived and by the rest of the family and countless visitors. It is also stunningly beautiful, in the stain and finish we chose and is a magnet for attention in the room.
Thanks also for coming promptly last month to sort out the minor mechanical problem of 2 keys which had shifted slightly.
We are convinced you gave us excellent value for our money and a really good service; I have recommended your shop to a couple of friends and will not hesitate to do so again.

Best Regards,

Dr. Caroline Welch

Hi Graham ,
I thought I would send a quick message to let you know that my French Cafe Barrel Piano upon which you recently carried out complete re-stringing and other restoration work, is now back to its former glory having had some futher restoration to some of its mechanical parts. It now sounds and performs much the way that it would have done when it was first entertained patrons in Nice, around 1910. That is of course in no small way a credit to yourself and your team of experts in the workshops at Bedhampton. When I first contacted you about the project, I was of course a little cautious as this was the first time you has been asked to work on a barrel piano and although the instrument shares many similarities with the construction of normal pianos, there are certainly many features of it that DO NOT !! However my mind was soon put to rest, not least by your friendly and honest approach to customer relations, understanding exactly what the customer wants, and of course advising accordingly when necessary. I must say that I am certainly impressed by the neatness and quality of the workmanship, and the attention to detail when required.

I will definitely be contacting you again in the future to discuss the restoration of other instruments and will have no hesitation in recommending you to others.

The piano arrived back safely after its restoration and looks super and plays beautifully. I have been very happy with your advice previously concerning getting it tuned, and I was fortunate in that you showroom and workshop are along my route to work, so I was able to drop in and quiz you about getting the instrument restored after what appears to have been a hard life since 1924-ish. I'm looking forward to showing it to the friend who let me have it a year or so ago. I don't think she'll believe it is the same one! Thank you for all the detailed work.

We bought a baby grand Steck piano from Bedhampton Pianos - we were very impressed at the painstaking way in which our piano was restored and the team have been consistently friendly, efficient and helpful. We are delighted with our piano and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

Katy - Nottingham

Hi Graham,

The piano arrived yesterday safe and sound. It's a beautiful piano and we have all fallen in love with it! Thanks for everything, you've been incredibly helpful.

Paul Bowler - Winchester

Having bought a bargain upright Bechstein unseen and unplayed from ebay, I entrusted the task of restoring it to its former glory to Graham and his team. The transformation has been staggering. What was a musty, rattling and tired old instrument now looks and plays as though delivered new from the showroom. All this was achieved for a fraction of the price of the quotes I received from other restorers. I couldn't be happier!

Lizzie T - London

We are so enjoying having the piano. The girls play a lot. It looks so well in its place too – you did a beautiful job on the restoration. This is a good opportunity to say how much we have appreciated dealing with you and your team. From the early guidance you gave us, to the visits to the shop to explore our options, to the feedback and involvement we had as you rebuilt “our” piano, you have been a pleasure to deal with. I had complete confidence in your recommendations and your work; it has been fun to see the email updates and photos - it’s rare these days that any purchase has quite so much of the heart and soul that you and your team have put into this piano. You all clearly take such care, and value the instruments you work with; the whole experience has been reassuring and very enjoyable. Thank you all for a really excellent service.

Arabella Fowler - Blandford Forum

Hi Graham,
The piano is lovely; we’re both delighted with it. I’d like to get hold of a stool that does it justice, so if anything comes in, please do let me know. From start to finish your customer service has been second to none, and with regards to the delivery; I think it was the most efficient and courteous I’ve ever been on the receiving end of.
Thanks very much!

Mrs A T - Emsworth

Graham,

Our piano graces the room so beautifully. We are thrilled with it. Thank you for your excellent service.

Dear Graham,

Having watched, stage by stage, the total restoration of the Gors and Kallmann Grand bought from you recently and now seeing the piano installed in its right and proper place in our home, we just want to say what a pleasure the whole experience has been. The collection of pictures and communication from you as the work progressed added to the confidence that the final product would not disappoint – nor did it. Although originally built in we believe 1913 it looks and plays as though fresh from the factory, indeed probably better, and if as you say it will improve as it settles to its new home and few more tunings, then we certainly have a piano of which to be proud. May we express our thanks to you and your team for the expertise, craftsmanship and obvious care taken in the restoration.

Our Ibach piano was made around 1880 and was bought for my grandmother in Manchester. My mother also learned to play on it as did my sisters and I. My mother always said what a good piano it was, but by my time it was sounding rather tired and we could not really hear what was special about it. More recently it became unusable as it could not hold tuning for very long and a couple of keys stopped working. After a full and comprehensive refurbishment by Graham and his team it is sounding as it must have done in its early years: especially, the lower octaves have a superb rich tone and the actions of the keys and pedals feel really good. It feels like a piece of family history has come to life. Well done!
